U10 Girls Capture Gold in Quebec

The July 29th weekend saw Bolton’s U10 Girls rep team travel to Quebec to take part in the 26th edition of the “Challenge Brossard” International Soccer Tournament.
The Wanderers opened the tourney against two squads from the GTA - Unionville Red and Unionville White shutting both out, 4-0 and 5-0 respectively. Christina Ricciuti picked up a pair of goals for Bolton against the Reds while Alaiyah Wilson and Amy Norris added singles. Scoring against the Whites were Jocelyn Hugo, Christina Coroado, and with a “hat trick”, Christina Ricciuti. Bolton’s third win of the preliminary matches came against hosts, Brossard - 2-1. Isabella Belvedere and Marisa Chrysanthou had the Wanderers’ goals.
The semi-final saw a return match with Unionville White, and once again the Wanderers dominated. Andrea Dodig found the back of the net twice. Alaiyah Wilson, Jocelyn Hugo, Christina Coroado, and Alexandra McGurk added singles for a 6-0 win en route to the final.
Thus far in the tourney, Bolton had proved to be a “scoring machine” and equally as strong defensively. The championship final against Brossard saw more of the same. The Wanderers struck for six unanswered goals cruising to the “Challenge” title! Isabella Belvedere led the way with a “hat trick”. Jocelyn Hugo had a pair. And, Christina Riccuiti added a single, while Bolton ‘keeper, Katrina Haarmann recorded her fourth tournament shut-out!
The win in Brossard marks the second time this season that the girls have captured tournament gold. The first came back in June at Barrie’s SpiritFest.
