The TNT Express Varsity division squad has secured a place in the OMFL championship with a semi final win over the NIagara Storm on Sunday.
The Express took an early lead in Sunday's game with touchdowns by Matthew Patterson and Justin Howell-Duncan.
TD number three came when Thomas Troop ran wide to cross the goal in the second quarter.
On offence the Express played a slick game making yards with a nice pass to receiver Brandon Guay.
The Storm found themselves in trouble when they were pinned on their own five yard line after a big tackle by Chayse Oliver.
Then Duncan Spilsbury crashed through the line to sack the Niagara quarterback.
With the ball back in their posession, Thomas Troop got his second TD after taking a short pass and crossing the goal.
Fraser McRae kicked the convert for the extra point.
The Storm went to their throwing game early in the second half with some good yards gained.
But Eric Hutterer managed to break through the line to take the Storm quarterback out of commission for the play.
The Niagara squad scored on a pass in the third quarter and made good on the one point convert.
Another QB sack by Fraser McRae showed the tanacity of the the Express defence.
Going into the fourth quarter, Travis Szydlik made a huge interception and ran for 30 yards to give the Express the ball and good field position.
The Storm started to be a threat late in the game with a long pass and a touchdown with 2:22 left on the clock.
But the game was over when Chayse Oliver snagged an interception and crossed the goal line with 1:30 left in the game.
The Storm continued to battle getting a TD with 31 seconds left on the clock, but time ran out before they could turn things around.
The Express will now go on to play in the OMFL championship on Saturday, August 7.
The game is scheduled to take place at Centenial Stadium in Etobicoke.
Game time has not yet been announced.
