'Silent' Steve Franjic made it number 5 in his pro career with a first round KO over opponent Nick Whiting in Moncton, New Brunswick on Saturday, September 10.
Trainer Bryon Mackie posted the news on the Big Tyme Fitness website
stating "first round KO. Looked very professional."
The scheduled four-round bout didn't make it past the first bell when the
fight was stopped.
Franjic weighed in at 184 lbs for the light-heavyweight division fight.
Whiting, who hails from Minnesota, registered 189 lb.
At 32, Whiting should pack it in after losing his last four pro bouts including
the loss in Moncton on Saturday.
Franjic now has some credibility behind him with his fifth win in his pro
career and is on the 'watch' list of several boxing organizations.
Four of his bouts never went the distance with Franjic dispatching his
opponents in the early going.
His only fight that didn't end in a KO was in Buffalo in June when he won a
unanimous decision over Rayshawn Myers in a four round bout.
