Hornets post double losses
Cougars 10-6 over Golden Hawks

The Schomberg Cougars and the Caledon Golden Hawks have had a good rivalry this season.
Of the seven games between the two teams, the Golden Hawks have come out on top four times.
Game eight on Thursday night at the Trisan Centre in Schomberg saw the series even up with the Cougars playing to a 10-6 win over the visitors.
The game started off to a fast pace with the Golden Hawks scoring on the first play of the night just :39 seconds into the game.
By the end of the first period the Caledon squad was leading 4-3.
The Cougars opened the scoring on their side with a goal from Alexandre Robichaud on a powerplay effort and a shot that took a bounce and hit the left side of the net.
Two more Schomberg goals followed in the first - both from Peter Kalpakis - including a pretty spectacular display when he found himself on a break-away and charged the net, deking to the right and using the back-hand to beat Caledon goalie Wyatt Pickrell.
The second period turned out to be a wild back and forth mix that saw the Cougars take the lead, they drop to the Golden Hawks by a goal, then come back to tie it up before the buzzer sounded to end the frame.

Schomberg goals came from Kyle Bishop, Mitch Macaulay, and a third from Kalpakis with :29 seconds left on the clock.
Caledon goals came from Will Lewis and Arthur King.
With the game tied at six, the final turned into a 20 minute game to see who could win the third period.
The Cougras shut down the Golden Hawks attack and scored four mored in the final twenty minutes to take the win.
Schomberg goals came from Nick Weening, Colton Wood, Pol Gonzalez, and Nikolai Borschevsky on a powerplay.
The win was number 16 for the Cougars and a definite show of dedication going into the last part of the regular season.
The Schomberg team has three regular season games left on the schedule.
The Cougars will travel to Stayner on Sunday, January 22, to face the Siskins with a 1:30 p.m. start.
