Siskins deliver 10-1 win over Cougars

The Schomberg Cougars are feeling the sting after a 10-1 loss to the first place Stayner Siskins on home ice at the Trisan Centre in Schomberg on Thursday night.
Despite 11 opportunities with a man advantage, the Cougars just couldn't find the back of the net, although they had several chances, especially in the first period, where they were playing a good
game but were shut down by Siskins goal tender Gordon Wiess.
A goalie change in the second period didn't help much and the Siskins scored five more to end the game.
The only Schomberg goal came in the third period from Wesley Attard at 8:28 into the frame to stop the shutout.
The Cougars were coming off a mixed bag of results after winning 8-1 over Fergus then losing their next game 3-1 to the Erin Shamrocks.
Despite the loss the Cougars have turned out a solid performance this year and at the halfway mark into the season are already poised to beat their entire season record from last year - they have 19 points after winning nine games so far.
New in the line-up is forward Wade Garbett - a former Cougar who played a couple of seasons in the junior A loop before returning to the Cougars bench last week and is expected to add some punch to the Schomberg attack.
The Cougars will return to home ice at the Trisan Centre on Thursday, December 8, to take on the Erin Shamrocks.
The puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
