Hornets post double losses

Penetang leads series over Schomberg after game one
Kings take game one 5-3
If game one is any indication of what's to come, the first round series of the GMOHL playoffs between the Schomberg Cougars and Penetang Kings shows just how competitive this series is going to be .
After taking a 3-1 lead in the second  period, the Cougars gave it up allowing the Kings to catch up then take the lead with 23 second left on the clock.
The only first period goal came from Schomberg's Pol Gonzalez at  the 12:34 mark.
The Kings lit up the scoreboard on a goal from Danny Logan in the second period to tie.
It was also the second period that pretty much decided the game when the Cougars took the lead on a goal from Pavel Volkov, and a second marker from Jesse Rooyakkers on a powerplay effort.
But the effort was short lived when the Kings turned it on and scored three to take the lead and end the period with a one goal lead going into the final twenty minutes.
Pen goals came from Tyson Clark, Jonathan OHara, and Brad Payne.
The battle came down to the third period.
With a final goal from Penetang's  Payne, game one of the series went to the Kings with a final score of 5-3.
Game two of the series will get underway tonight in Penetang with an 8:30 p.m. start.
Game three will also take place in Penetang on Monday, February 6, at 8:30 p.m.
Game four will return to Schomberg on Thursday, February 9.
The puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m.
