The Alliston Hornets had no trouble shooting on net in Friday's game against Stayner, they just couldn't put the puck past Siskins' goalie Taylor Trace.
The Hornets out-shot the Siskins, but in the end you can't argue with two short-handed goals by Stayner.
Hornets coach Sandy McCarthy did not hide his dissapointment with the refereeing.
Alliston is getting "the shaft" he said, after the game, referencing several calls he thought just weren't right. "We were put behind the 8-ball early in the game," he said.
Despite the loss, McCarthy said, "I thought my boys played well. I can't take anything away from Stayner, they played well."
The Siskin's had a three goal lead early in the second period after two goals in the first by Connor Watt and Daniel Latour, and a second period marker by Cody Brown.
The Hornets got on the scoreboard in the second period on a powerplay goal from David LeBlanc.
The Siskins capped the game with a third period effort by Tyler Happenney.
The Hornets will travel to Midland tonight (Sat., Oct. 22) to face the Flyers.
They return to home ice on Friday, October 28, to take on the Penetang Kings.
The puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
