Hornets post double losses
Hornets 5-2 over Siskins
Alliston trumps in the third period
The Alliston Hornets took Friday's game against the Stayner Siskins after breaking a second period tie and scoring three times in the third period for the win.
Alliston' Tyler Agostini opened the scoring at the midway mark in the first period.
Stayner answered in the second with a goal by William Gerow.
Tyler Crawford place the Hornets back in the lead at 12:02 in the second.
But another Siskins goal from Justin Reid made it a twenty minute game going into the third period with a 2-2 tie.
The Hornets sealed the deal in the third period beginning with a powerplay effort by Mike Campeau at :35 seconds into the final frame.
Cam Nicoll got some insurance for the Alliston squad at 6:58 with an unassisted goal that gave the Hornets a two goal lead.
A second powerplay goal from Campeau put the cap on the game for the Hornets for a 5-2 win over the first place Siskins.
The Siskins are leading the GMOHL with a 24-6 record.
The Hornets are close behind with a 22-8 record and 44 points so far for the season.
The Penetang Kings are in the third spot with 39 points.
The Hornets return to home ice at the New Tec Rec Centre on Friday, January 6, to face the Erin Shamrocks.
Game time is 7:30 p.m.
