Hornets shutout Penetang

The Alliston Hornets are hanging on to second place in the GMOHL with 18 points after their 4-0 win over the Penetang Kings on Friday night in Alliston.
The Hornets are three points behind the Stayner Siskins who are leading the standings with 21 points after 11 games.
The Siskins won 4-1 over the Hornets during their last match up on October 21.
But Friday night it was all Alliston when they shut down the purple machine from Penetang.
Dakota Brooks started the Hornets off with an early first period goal.
Three more in the second period gave the Alliston squad a four goal lead going into the final twenty minutes.
Hornets goals came from Zenon Byblow, Mike Campeau, and Eric Shannon.
The final frame had no scoring from either squad.
A quick scan down the standings and the league is spread out more than it was last season which can be a good thing for the fans who come out to watch the games.
The Hornets travel to Erin tonight (Oct., 29.) to face the Shamrocks.
They return to home ice at the New Tec Rec Centre on Friday,
There won't be a Hornets home game this Friday. Instead the squad will be on the road for a few games, returning to home ice on Friday, November 18, to face the Caledon Golden Hawks.
The puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
